Napope’s gold rush continues at Summer Games

Calvin Napope continued to collect medals Wednesday at the Saskatchewan Summer Games in Estevan.

The St. Louis track and field sensation won the boys long jump with a leap of 6.60-metres. Napope also claimed gold Monday in the five-event pentathlon and took bronze in high jump.

Brett Lachance is also two gold medals richer. The Meath Park thrower won the boys discus championship Wednesday with a gold-medal winning hurl of 41.38-metres. He won the shot put title Monday.

Prince Albert sprinter Taylor Strauss added to her collection Wednesday as part of the bronze medal winning girls medley relay. She already has gold medals in the 100-m and 200-m dashes. The other members of the team included P.A. runners Samantha Monette, Lauren Town and Hannah Walker. Walker also has a bronze medal from the 3000-m run.
