Wall stays home; Husky official pays visit to P.A.

Premier Brad Wall offered to travel to Prince Albert, however Mayor Greg Dionne has requested that the visit be postponed until the city’s state of emergency is over.

In Wall’s place will be a representative from Husky Energy and an insurance agent.

The city has incurred significant costs both protecting the water treatment plant and finding alternative water solutions. Husky Energy has indicated they would take full responsibility for the oil spill and will financially compensate the municipalities impacted.

Husky has also arranged for a water treatment expert to visit Prince Albert this weekend and work with city staff and other governmental agencies to explore all potential water solutions.
