May 1, 2011 | 4:01 PM

Local artists Michel Boutin, left, of the Indigenous Peoples Artist Collective and curator of the John V. Hicks Gallery, and Judy McNaughton, of the arts organization Common Weal, look at a painting at a new art exhibit at the Mann Art Gallery.

Borderlands – Imagining the Immaterial is a show by Shawn Serfas. He is a local artist who grew up in Prince Albert and first trained with Prince Albert art professor, George Glenn. He took university painting and drawing.

Shawn originally was interested in environmental sciences, and though he redirected his focus to the arts eventually earning a Master's Degree, he has merged the two loves by painting the landscape from an aerial perspective.

The paintings are on display at the Mann Art Gallery at the Rawlinson Centre until the end of May.
