Man given jail sentence after breaking conditional sentence

Apr 29, 2011 | 11:53 AM

Shawn Lee Knife, 32, will be spending the next 13 months in jail on two different charges.

Knife was serving an 18-month conditional sentence in the community when, on Mar. 4, he broke into his girlfriend’s home on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation with a knife and assaulted her.

He was charged with break and enter, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and resisting arrest.

At the time of the break and enter, he had seven months left on his conditional sentence, which stemmed from an incident in Ahtahkakoop on Mar. 21, 2010, where he pointed a .22 rifle at an individual and uttered death threats, as well as stole videos from the property of L & P Bargain Shoppe in Canwood on Feb. 11, 2010.
