Saskatchewan first province to receive Canada Post royal wedding stamps

A group of Saskatoon seniors were among the first people in Canada to get their hands on Canada Post's royal wedding stamps Thursday.

Lieutenant Governor Gordon Barnhart revealed the stamps to around 100 members of the Saskatoon branch of the Saskatchewan Century Club at the Delta Bessborough.

Saskatchewan asked to be the first province to receive the stamps, even before the royal wedding takes place.

“We're delighted and, you know, Saskatchewan being the centre of Canada is an appropriate place for us to have a first day cover,” said Barnhart, who also revealed what his plans are for William and Kate's big day.
