Third annual BOB Awards a rousing success

Prince Albert turned out in style for the third annual Best of the Best award ceremony.

Hundreds of people danced the night away at the Ches Leach Lounge yesterday, June 27. Over 500,000 votes came into pick the best of Prince Albert.

Six awards were handed out on stage:

• Best Elementary Teacher: Miss Stacey Ward
• Best Secondary Teacher: Kelly Klassen
• Best Female Athlete: Kendal Horan
• Best Male Athlete: Kohlton Parenteau
• Best Volunteer: Suzanne Bantle
• Best Hero: Keaton Dirks

Best Hero winner Keaton Dirks was the life of the party and found himself in numerous selfies with the audience.

In 2014 Keaton and his family were taken on a whirlwind journey when they discovered he needed serious heart surgery.

Since the surgery Keaton has flourished; he ran around the Ches Leach Lounge snapping photos with supporters.

Dozens of other awards, such as best coffee shop and best lake were handed out. A full list of winners can be found online.
