Murderer and kidnapper receives life sentence

The man who kidnapped a teenage girl last year, and killed her boyfriend, has received a life sentence with no chance of parole for 14 years.
 
Jonas Budd received his sentence today at Prince Albert Court of Queen’s Bench.
 
The case dates back to February, 2015.
 
Kayla Natomagan, 17. was taken from her home on the Lac La Ronge First Nation. Dustin Bird who was sleeping at the residence was shot and killed.
 
The incident prompted a man hunt and Amber Alert.
 
Natomagan was found safe several hours later near Cranberry Portage, Manitoba.
 
Budd barricaded himself in a Sturgeon Landing home and captured without incident.
 
The victim’s family is talking to the media.
