British pride is going to be the focal point of the world and also in Regina this week as everyone waits for the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The Hotel Saskatchewan is the home away from home for the royals when they visit the Queen City. Friday morning, a high tea at 3:30 a.m. will set the stage for a classy wedding watching party.

“It will all be, obviously, English food and our doormen will be dressed in the Beefeater costumes. We'll have red carpet running down the hallway,” said Hotel Saskatchewan general manager Marla Preston, adding that the wedding ceremony will be shown on several large televisions.

“Because of the hotel's relationship with the royals — and we have a long-standing relationship with them — we just really felt that we should do something to honour the event and make it really special for anyone that wanted to participate,” Preston said.
