2016 BOB winners announced

The results are in, and for the third year in a row Prince Albert residents voted en masse for paNOW’s Best of the Best or BOB Awards.

With more than 250 categories, the BOBs recognize the city’s finest in shopping and services, arts and entertainment, food and drink, sports and recreation, health, beauty and style and local goodness.

Since its inception in 2014, participation in the BOBs has continued to grow. This year a total of 6,440 registered voters cast almost 515,000 votes.

Whitney Darchuk won this year for best local girl made good, Tanner Byrne for best local boy made good, Suzanne Bantle for best volunteer, Keaton Dirks for best local hero and the Prince Albert Street Fair for best local tourist attraction.

Hair Revolution by Sara Mund won for best new business and Montana’s BBQ and Bar was voted as the best new place to eat.

Malcolm Jenkins was once again voted as Prince Albert’s best citizen as well as All Mighty Voice for best local band or musician for the third year in a row. 

Under athletics, Kendal Horan won for best female athlete, Kohlton Parenteau for best male athlete, Cooke Municipal Golf Course for best golf course and the Performing Arts Warehouse for best dance studio.

Kelly Klassen was awarded best secondary teacher, Stacy Ward for best elementary teacher and Tanya Peters for best bus driver.

Save the date

The 2016 BOB Awards Party takes place June 27 in the Ches Leach Lounge at the Art Hauser Centre.

Winners will be invited to attend, but tickets to the event are available to all for $35 and can be purchased at the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group’s front office located at 1316 Central Ave.
