Carlton’s Karson Lehner was involved in another record setting run at the district high school track and field championships in Prince Albert.

However there was a reversal of fortune.

Lehner shattered the 200-metre record by close to a full second yesterday, May 25. Austin Strauss of Carlton finished second while also beating the previous record.

Lehner also beat the record in the 100-metre today, but finished second to Thompson Weegar.

The swift St. Mary sprinter won the high noon showdown on the track in 10.98 seconds.  Lehner who was the first runner to ever go under 11 seconds in the city championships last week, posted a time of 11.03.

Hannah Walker of Carlton set her second record of the meet winning the Midget Girls 800-metre in 2:25.64. She broke the 1,500-metre record on Wednesday.

Taryn McKenzie of Carlton also set a new standard in the Junior Girls 1,500-metre winning in a time of 2:30.53.

The meet continues at the Harry Jerome track and field facility.
