Ice Wolves shut down in game 7

Apr 24, 2011 | 9:38 PM

The Portage Terriers are off to the RBC Cup in Camrose, Alberta after they eliminated the SJHL champion La Ronge Ice Wolves in the seventh and deciding game of the Anavet Cup final in Portage Sunday night with a 4-0 win.

One night after the Ice Wolves won 1-0 to force a Game 7, it looked as if the Terriers and Ice Wolves were going to have another goaltenders battle with Adam Bartko and Jason Kasdorf stopping everything sent their way through the first 37 minutes. That is when Shaq Merasty broke the game seven scoring bubble as he scored the eventual game winner.

Tanner Harms, Brendan Harms and Kyle Turgeon scored into an empty net in the 3rd period to give the Terriers the win and send them on their way to Camrose for the nationals that start next Saturday.
