Traffic moving better over bridge during construction: city

May 5, 2016 | 1:17 PM

As construction continues on Diefenbaker Bridge, capital project manager Wes Hicks said traffic is moving much better than before but reminds residents the work is ongoing.

“I believe there will always probably be a delay during construction because the traffic volumes are always high during the rush hour, so it’s not just possible to get all of vehicles through one lane without some delay,” Hicks said.

The city turned out a stop light at 12th St. to assist in the traffic flow.

Hicks said safety barriers are now in place which allows for the free flow of traffic, but emphasized only one southbound lane remains open.
