Pitch-In week continues across Prince Albert

Prince Albert residents came out yesterday to pitch-in, pick up, and make the city spotless.

City hall workers hit downtown Prince Albert this afternoon to clean up litter during P.A.’s annual Pitch-In Week. Alanna Adamko, the city’s communication manager, said this week was a great way for communities to take pride in their home.

“I feel great. It shows that the city of Prince Albert employees care a lot about their community. They work here, they live here and they do not only talk the talk, they walk the walk,” Adamko said.

Ward one councillor Charlene Miller and a group of volunteers, including teachers and kids from Westview Community School, pitched-in to clean the west end of the city.

Kelly Fraser, an educational assistant at Westview Community School, said she brought the class here today to teach them it’s their responsibility to keep their community clean.

“I love seeing all these kids pitch in,” she said. “We got a couple of big garbage bags of stuff off the street and they all seem pretty happy (to be here) even though it’s hot.”
