Carlton student serves up gold medal in badminton

Katrina Bear has punched her ticket to the Regional Badminton playoffs.

Bear qualified after winning gold at the District Play-offs in La Ronge over the weekend. Over a dozen local athletes will be following her to Regionals in Humbolt this Saturday.

In the Boys Singles category, Curtis Halkett of Sally Ross and Vince Waldner of Debden will make the trip on the weekend. In Girls Singles, Camryn Amundson of Debden and Bear will be competing.

In Boys Doubles, the pair of Jared Wason and Alyx Lemaigre of Shellbrook and Justin Cay and Keanu Brittain  of Kinistino made the cut. Brooklyn Krip and Shaelyn Painchaud of Meath Park and Paige Hinson and Robyn Amundson of Debden will be competing in Girls doubles.

In Mixed Doubles, Delayne Aiken and Ryan Aiken of Canwood and Garret Feige and Hailey Harms of Shellbrook will be travelling to Humboldt.
