While Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made his rounds through Saskatoon, Grade 12 Carlton student, Joel Morin, and his friend decided to take the day trip to meet Canada’s leader in person.

“It was a really fun time and it was cool being able to see him in the flesh because of course, as you know, you see him every day on television,” Morin said. “To be there in front of him and to be able to shake his hand and get a picture, it (was) a whole different experience.”

Saskatoon’s Delta Bessborough was jam-packed with people wanting to meet Trudeau and get pictures, Morin said.

“I basically said one sentence to him. I said to him, ‘It’s so good having you back in Saskatchewan,’” Morin said. “He said, ‘it’s so good to be back,’ and that was the extent of it.”
