Summer construction on Diefenbaker bridge starts next week

Apr 29, 2016 | 12:00 PM

A nearly four-month long construction project on the Diefenbaker Bridge will start Monday, May 2.

The concrete splash guards are getting replaced, along with the bridge’s metal hand rails.

The right southbound lane of the bridge will be closed from May 2 to July 5.   Crews will then move to other side of the bridge which will close the right northbound lane.

The entire project is expected to take until early September.
