Ready, set, crawl!

Babies were on all fours competing against each other, even if they didn’t know it. They raced at the 4th annual baby crawl Saturday April. 9 at The Co-op mall.

Parents were allowed to do anything to coax their baby along except physically touch them. Moms and dads pulled out all the tricks, from jingling keys to putting cellphones just out of reach and even flashing candy in front of their faces.

“We had tons of fun,” Leanne Ducommun, Marketing and Communications Manager for Discovery Co-op, said. “We had over 20 some babies registered and had some pretty tense moments here at the finish line but as always the babies were perfect and it was another successful event for us.”

This year saw participation cut in half as over 40 babies competed last year. Ducommun attributed the decline to the lack of babies born in the last year. Ages to compete were between 6 months to one year to the day. If a baby was one day over a year old they couldn’t compete.
