Prince Albert’s most popular Valentine gifts

Feb 13, 2016 | 2:50 PM

Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us, and some of you might still struggling to find something for your special someone.

Before you run out to get a dozen red roses for your hunny-bunny, you may want to think twice. Turns out, the classic bouquet of a dozen red roses isn’t the most popular choice of flowers during this lovey-dovey holiday.

“It’s usually the last minute go-to; a dozen red roses. So I’m assuming starting Feb. 12 we’ll start getting those,” said a Scentiments employee.

If you have a lovely lady in your life and haven’t gotten her a gift yet, heed her words of advice.

“Women’s favourite is a nice assorted bouquet with a couple roses. They like the variety versus the dozen red roses. It seems to be the most popular that women are choosing.”

Up the hill at Source Adult, they have a different idea of what sells during Valentine’s.

“We have our warm gel and our spray. Lots of people like that,” said an employee. “We also have some stuff to put on your lips, different flavours like that…Lingerie has been selling pretty well too.”

On Friday paNOW posted a poll asking “What you are giving your Valentine this year?”

Fifty-eight per cent voted “It’s a stupid holiday, we’re romantic the whole year.” 30 per cent voted roses and/or chocolates, 11 per cent voted for sex underwear or ‘toys’, and one per cent of people voted for writing a poem or song.
