Toboggan accident among weekend assaults and car crashes

Parkland Ambulance Paramedics dealt with relatively few incidents over the weekend.

Paramedics cared for an eight-year-old boy injured while tobogganing at Little Red River Park on Saturday, Feb. 6. The boy was taken to hospital in good condition.

Saturday was their busiest day. It started at 12:18 a.m. with an assault on the Little Red River Reserve. Paramedics cared for two people with minor injuries. Both were taken to hospital for further treatment and care.

Several more assaults required their attention, one on the corner of 29th St. and Central Ave and the other in the 1600 block of the Manville Bay area. A 26-year-old and a 25-year-old were taken to hospital with injuries from the assaults.
