The annual Mr Mikes Deeds Well Done program has officially wrapped up.

A total of 10 good doers in Western Canada, including a Prince Albert man, have been chosen as the winners of a $1,000 donation that that they can donate to any local registered charity of their choice.

Clark Russell, was nominated for his efforts this winter for collecting blankets and warm clothes for Prince Albert’s homeless.

Clark described his good deeds efforts as a new tradition that he and his girlfriend Jessica hope to continue year after year.

“We had a total of 77 blankets that we distributed around Prince Albert along with some backpacks that were full of hygiene products,” said Russell.

Russell said after they had collected all the items they drove around the city and dropped them off with whoever they noticed might need them.

“A little goes a long way,” said Russell when asked what inspired him to get out there and lend a helping hand.

Russell said he donated the $1000 from the Mr Mikes Deeds Well Done campaign to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan in honour of his grandmother who has been diagnosed with the disease.

“It has impacted my family a lot,” he said. “And I hope the donation helps others in Prince Albert and area who are struggling with this too.”

The Mr Mikes Deeds Well Done initiative helps to recognize those in the community that continue to lend a helping hand.
