Saskatchewan has lost a hero in the fight against breast cancer. Saskatoon's Lisa Rendall died Wednesday after an over decade-long battle with the disease.

It was over 10 years ago the former C95 morning show host was diagnosed with stage-four breast cancer. Rendall was told then the survival rate was two-and-a-half years. Lisa is credited with putting a face to breast cancer by telling her story and raising money for breast cancer research, including through the Lisa Rendall Golf Classic.

In 10 years the golf classic has raised over $300,000. Lisa was also a huge part of the C95 Radio Marathon for Breast Cancer Research. Donations have topped $2.5 million dollars for the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency.

Among the many honours, she was named the 2010 CTV Citizen of the Year. Strong-willed and quick-witted, Rendall was tireless in promoting the need for a cure.
