Top sports stories of 2015: First ever Senator’s Cup

Ex-Prince Albert Raiders forward Craig McCallum was named the Top Forward at first ever Senator’s Cup makes our Top 10 Sports Stories of 2015.

McCallum and his Patuanak Pats from English River won the inaugural Senators Cup Aboriginal Full Contact Hockey Tournament on April 12 at the Art Hauser Centre.

The tournament featured some current like Prince Albert’s Dylan Yeo, D.J. King, Wacey Rabbit and Raiders goaltending coach Kelly Guard.

Fred Sasakamoose, the first ever Aboriginal Canadian to play in the NHL, was honoured with a tribute during the tournament. He dropped the ceremonial puck drop and spoke with us about the moment he knew he’d make hockey history.
