Many Saskatchewan highways closed because of flooding

Apr 13, 2011 | 10:43 AM

The list of highways under water is growing by the hour because of rising flood levels caused by spring run off across Saskatchewan.

That includes the west lanes of the Trans Canada, just west of Wolseley.

Doug Wakabayashi with the Ministry of Highways says they have some water on the road on Highway 10, closer Fort Qu'appelle which was part of the original detour.

That's forced a second detour — eastbound traffic will now be detoured north on Highway 6, east on Highway 15 south of Raymore, then south on Highway 9 and then meet back with Highway 1 near Whitewood.
