Chris Jones hired as the Riders’ new GM, head coach

Dec 7, 2015 | 12:50 PM

A man who’s won a Grey Cup for every CFL team he’s worked for is now in charge of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Riders officially introduced Chris Jones as the team’s new general manager and head coach on Monday afternoon.

The Green and White have signed Jones to a three-year contract. Jones will also serve as the team’s vice president of football operations and defensive coordinator.

The head coaching and general manager’s job became open in Saskatchewan after Brendan Taman and Corey Chamblin were fired from their jobs at the end of August following the Riders 0-9 start to the season.
