Lockdown over at Saskatchewan Penitentiary

Oct 6, 2015 | 8:27 AM

A lockdown that was put into effect last week at a medium security unit in the Saskatchewan Penitentiary near Prince Albert is over.

The lockdown was put into place so guards could carry out what they called an exceptional search.

In a release Correctional Service Canada officials said they are committed to preventing the entry of contraband into the institution.

The release also mentioned that they are working in partnership with police to take action against those who attempt to bring contraband into the institution.
