Accused kidnapper remanded again

A man accused of kidnapping a teenage girl and murdering her boyfriend, was back in court on Tuesday.

Jonas Budd appeared via video conference at La Ronge Provincial Court.  Budd was remanded back into custody and the case was adjourned to September 11.

Budd is charged with first degree murder, and a long list of weapons charges, in connection to an incident that happened last February on the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Kayla Natomagan was the subject of an amber alert that lasted nearly two hours. 

Prior to the abduction, 17-year-old Dustin Bird was shot and killed.
