Laurel Robinson, photographer and owner of Photography by Laurel is no newbie to the industry and has done photography professionally for over 30 years. Her career began in North Battleford where she had her own studio for 13 years. In 1993 she moved to Prince Albert where she has continued to capture special moments in her clients lives ever since at her in home studio located at 1256 Cook Drive.

“My statement is photography with a personal touch because I like it to be something about them,” said Laurel. “Each person is different so you want to capture each with their own personality.”

Throughout her career Laurel has had the pleasure to capture a wide variety of special moments and milestones in her clients lives. She has photographed weddings, families, graduates, children, newborns and everything in between.

“I do everything,” said Laurel. “ I am great with children I have lots of patience. I love weddings and there is nothing better then being involved with all those emotions that come with it. I also do a lot of family photography.”

Laurel stresses how important it is to get your family pictures done on a regular basis and she encourages more families to try and take the time to make sure their family milestones are not missed.

“I don’t think families take their family photos often enough,” said Laurel.  “Things change so quickly, so I think it is important to take your family photos often enough to capture those changes. When your special occasions are over. Photos are all you have left to remember them by.”

You can’t create those moments over, so it is important to hire a professional that you know is going to capture it. When you hire someone that is experienced they are ready to capture those crucial moments.

“If clients have a time restriction they can get the best of both worlds within minutes,” said Laurel.

But sessions are not restricted to only Laurel’s home studio she also does and enjoys capturing clients on location at destinations of their choice.

“I love photographing clients in a place where it means something to them,” said Laurel. “Maybe in their own home, maybe in their own yard or perhaps at an old farmstead that means something to them.”
