Beardy’s Okemasis First Nation celebrates grand opening of new gym

Exciting news for Beardy’s & Okemasis Willow Cree First Nation.

Residents of the community celebrated the grand opening of their new gym the Sesawetan Centre Monday morning.

In true community spirit, students from Cst. Robin Cameron Education Centre built the facility as a part of a school work experience program specializing in the trades titled the Pimacihowin Project.

Local Grade 11 and 12 students helped to build the project, under the supervision of local trades people in the community.

So far the centre has been well received by the community who are looking forward to using both the equipment and taking the classes.
