A man has escaped from the Saskatchewan Penitentiary’s minimum security unit.

On July 26 it was noticed during the 4:30 p.m. count that Lawrence Sewap, who was serving a three year and nine months sentence for aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and being unlawfully at large and obstructing a peace officer, was missing.

A warrant for his arrest has been issued.

Sewap, 35, is described as being approximately six feet tall and 168 pounds with a medium complexion, brown eyes, and brown hair. He is also described as having tattoos on his left and right arms. A spokesperson for Corrections Canada told paNOW it is not their policy to release photos.
