Day 2 wrap in Elk Ridge, Mid-Am’s and Women’s Amateurs
Irondale, Alabama’s Torrie Coghlin remains in the lead after two days of the 29th President’s Cup Mid-Am Men’s Championship Thursday at Elk Ridge Resort. Coghlin shot a 71 to slip to -1 after two rounds of play.
But perhaps the biggest story of the day was Regina’s Kris Carley. Carley shot a 65, by far the best round of the first two days, to rocket up the standings to a tie for second. Not only did Carley not register a bogey, he made seven birdies including birdies the last four holes.
David Stewart, originally from Prince Albert, remains in the top ten after shooting a 73 on Day 2, a three-stroke improvement on his Day One performance. Martin Ring is tied for 16th at +12, while Shaun Hunko is in 38th.
