Prince Albert Fire Fighters remain without contract

Jul 4, 2015 | 8:20 AM

The union that represents the Prince Albert Fire Department has rejected the latest contract offer by the city.

The final offer would have increased the First Class Fire Fighters annual salary to $85, 818 dollars.  The offer represents an 11.2 per cent increase over two and a half years, and is consistent with the City of Moose Jaw.

“I am certainly disappointed we didn’t reach a conclusion today, however we are ready to move forward” said Mayor Greg Dionne in a news release issued Friday afternoon.

According to the news release, the city will review its options over the next few days, including interest arbitration.
