WestJet lands plane at Saskatoon airport after bomb threat

Jun 30, 2015 | 9:06 PM

Another bomb threat made to a WestJet flight Wednesday brought police vehicles, ambulances and fire trucks to the Saskatoon airport.

Police say WestJet flight 323 was headed to Saskatoon from Toronto with 113 passengers and five crew members on board. It landed safely at around 8 p.m., and was held away from the terminal. The passengers had to be interviewed one by one, and their bags had to be searched.

At last word, there is no indication on where the threat came from, or if it is related to three similar threats made to Canadian flights over the past week.

This is the second bomb threat incident at YXE since Saturday, when 147 WestJet passengers were grounded on route to Edmonton. After an extensive search, no explosive device was found.
