P.A. mother remains hopeful for daughter’s safe return

Lori Nyland has not talked to her daughter for 10 days and recalls there was nothing unusual or strange about their conversation.

Danielle Nyland, 22, went missing in the early morning hours of June 8 after leaving a party in Prince Albert’s East Flat. She was last seen in Shellbrook at around 7:30 a.m.

“I don’t know how to explain how I’m feeling really, but I’m getting lots of support from family and friends,” said Nyland.

RCMP located Danielle Nyland’s cellphone, at the end of a driveway. On Tuesday night, the RCMP informed the public that they had located Raymond Knife, a man thought to have information on the whereabouts of Danielle Nyland.

“I know her roommates and I know her better friends, but I don’t know that place wherever she was, I hadn’t heard of that one,” said Nyland.  “I think she was with random people, she wasn’t with her normal friends, I don’t think.”

RCMP resumed their search on Wednesday morning for Nyland, combing through the forested area where she was last seen.

Up until Tuesday, a group of family members and friends, were conducting their own private search of the area but have now been told by the RCMP to back off.

RCMP are still looking for a white pick-up truck and ask anyone who may have had one stolen to call them.

The RCMP can be contacted at 306-747-2606 or Crime Stoppers can be used anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.

“They (RCMP) came here last night and they told me they’re real close, they think they’re real close to finding her because they are still interrogating people that she was with,” said Nyland.
