While 73 golfers from across Canada spent Thursday warming up for Friday’s start of the Golf Canada future links Junior tournament at Cooke Municipal Golf Course in Prince Albert, the men were playing their second rounds of match play at the Lobstick in Waskesiu.

Defending champion Greg Swenson has advanced to the quarterfinals with a win over Jason Galon, but will face a tough test Friday morning against Brad Phelps. The veteran from Saskatoon upended low qualifier Cliff Selander in Thursday morning’s second round.

Open winner Shaun Dunphy will take on Prince Albert’s Brett Henry in the quarterfinals. Dunphy defeated former winner Andrew Zaba while Henry ousted Russell Robson in their second round match.

Senior champion Colin Coben from Delisle is on a quarterfinal collision course with Taylor Afseth, following Coben’s victory over Doug Kozak and Afseth’s triumph over Tyler Zaba.
