Jerry Christiansen turned in the best round on day one of the 2015 Men’s Lobstick in Waskesiu. His 1-under-par-69 is good for a one shot lead heading into Tuesday’s second and final round of the open. Prince Albert’s Ashley Ziegeman and Cliff Selander are tied for second with Brian Dueck of Estevan, Jody Dueck of Elk Ridge and Saskatoon’s Shaun Dunphy tied for 4th at 71.

Selander is sitting in the top qualifier position for match play with about 40 players set to play their qualifying rounds on Tuesday. Defending champion Greg Swenson of Prince Albert is poised to make the championship flyte for the opening of match play on Wednesday. He is in a 6-way tie for 7th at 3-over-73. Five time Senior champion Colin Cobin of Delisle is among five players another shot back in a tie for 13th. Sasaktoon’s Brad Phelps is also in that group. Former Champion Martin Ring of Prince Albert also looks to be comfortably in the championship flyte, locked in a six-way tie for 18th at 75.

Championship matches are slated for Saturday.
