Preds beat S.W.A.T 9-8 with magical late goal
Reid Corrigal’s hail mary pass to Jagg Carlson capped off a thrilling 9-8 victory the Prince Albert Predators over the Saskatoon S.W.A.T. Saturday at the Kinsmen.
With just over a minute left in the game in an 8-8 tie, the Predators missed the net with a shot and watched the ball bounce off the boards and into their zone and looked certain to turn over possession. Corrigal had other ideas as jetted off of the Predator’s bench just in time to cut off the ball deep in his own zone with 10 seconds left on the shot clock.
When Corrigal looked at his options, he saw an unmarked Carlson calling for the pass beside the S.W.A.T net. Corrigal heaved a 150-foot, lobbed passed from heaven right onto Carlson’s stick, who’s finish was quick and precise to give the Preds the win.
The Predators had a 4-1 lead after the first two periods as Preds goaltender Lucas Wells was pitching a rare lacrosse shutout for the first 38 minutes of the game.
