Dragons pass biggest test of the season; beat Springboks 26-22

May 29, 2015 | 5:05 PM

The Saskatchewan Rivers Dragons high school rugby team had been smooth sailing throughout their season until they were finally tested in Saskatoon against the second-ranked Springboks.

The Dragons still picked up the win with a 26-22 decision. Both teams scored four tries each, but the Dragons got the edge by their effectiveness off the tee.

Dragons standoff Ashton Milligan made good on two converts and a penalty goal, compared to just one conversion by the Springboks. Milligan also scored a pair of tries by himself, while Tristen Franc and Jared Kormish also crossed the try-line.

The next home game for the Dragons will be on June 9 against the Springboks on Max Clunie Field.
