Which way is the beach?

Despite a wood fire ban and extreme fire warnings in Prince Albert National Park over the weekend, people took advantage of the warm weather.

Mostly families filled Waskesiu’s beach, but few dared to head into the water, which had only thawed just before the May long-weekend.

The high in Waskesui was 25.9 C.

Meanwhile in Prince Albert the high of 28.2 C on Saturday was a far cry from 1951’s record high of 33.3 C. Compared to 2002’s record low of -3.3 C.

The average high for May 23 is 19 C, and the average low is 5 C. The low on Saturday was 5.9 C.
