Premier shuffles cabinet

May 22, 2015 | 7:43 AM

Premier Brad Wall made a couple of changes to his cabinet on Thursday, giving promotions to Don McMorris and Kevin Doherty.

The shuffle comes as Ken Krawetz leaves cabinet, after announcing he will not be running in the next provincial election. Krawetz served as deputy premier since this government took office, as well as finance minister for the last five years.

Don McMorris becomes the new deputy premier, while also maintaining all of his current responsibilities – the minister responsible for the Crown Investments Corporation, Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority and Saskatchewan Government Insurance.

Meanwhile, Kevin Doherty was appointed the new finance minister. Scott Moe takes over from Doherty as minister of advanced education. Jim Reiter, the current government relations minister, will also now be responsible for SaskTel.
