May 14, 2015 | 12:53 PM

Farmers in the northeast region of Saskatchewan are making some progress in the fields, although still facing some challenges around cooler weather.

Thirteen per cent of the crop is now seeded, according to the Saskatchewan Agriculture Crop Report. This compares with two per cent last week.

Provincially, 34 per cent of the 2015 crop is now seeded.  The five-year average, from 2010 through 2014, for this time of year is nine per cent seeded.

Producers in the southwest are most advanced, with 61 per cent of the crop seeded.
