Several people face charges in connection to a homicide this past weekend on Pelican Narrows.

The death of Hilliard Sewap Jr., 17, was previously being investigated as suspicious, but the RCMP’s investigation led them to determine it was a homicide.

Pelican Narrows RCMP discovered him in medical distress at a home in Pelican Narrows on Saturday morning. He later died from his injuries in hospital.

Seven suspects now face charges in relation to his death.

Four men, Marcus Sewap, 19, Brandon Lee Matt McCallum, 19, Cody Drake Custer, 22, and Robbie Lambert Lee Custer, 20, all face second-degree murder charges.

Custer is still at large and there is a warrant out for his arrest.

Trevor Charles, 28, of Pelican Narrows, faces a host of charges including second-degree murder, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon and possession of dangerous property.

Two youth also each face a charge of second-degree murder and cannot be named due to their ages. Warrants have been issued for their arrests as well.

All of the individuals in custody will have their first court appearances in Pelican Narrows Provincial Court on Tuesday.

An autopsy for Hilliard Sewap Jr. has also been scheduled for Tuesday.
