Trains, planes and automobiles only the start at hobby show

Casual observers, enthusiasts and die-hards all have something to take in at the Prince Albert Model Train and Hobby Show at the Prince Albert Golf and Curling Club.

While the majority of the show features model train sets of different sizes, there are also woodcarving, fly fishing, classic car and radio and model enthusiast booths set up. As well, there are a few shops offering specialty items for amateur to the advanced train set collectors.

One train set was in memorial to RiverXingNorth member Brian Smith who passed away last year.

His wife, Judy Smith had brought what remained of his train set to the show and will be donating it to the RiverXingNorth club so it can continue to be shown at various shows in the future.

She said that some of his pieces were about 60 years old. He had started collecting when he was a child.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

If you’d like to check out some of the booths, tickets are $10 for families, $5 for single adults and $2 for students.
