Waskesiu guide named the top in tourism

Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre’s lead guide has been named Saskatchewan Tourism’s Employee of the Year for 2014.

Natalie Matheson received the award Thursday night in Saskatoon. 

Matheson has been the lead guide for the past eight years.

She is well known for providing guided trips to Grey Owl’s cabin, operating the Heart Lakes boat and Voyageur canoe.

Matheson is a graduate of Medicine Hat College and holds degrees in ecotourism and outdoor leadership.

During the winter months, Matheson works at Fresh Air Experience in Prince Albert.

The Waskesiu Marina Adventure Centre was also a finalist for Business of the Year (under 20 employees).
