Bladworth man Roberto Vicente is still missing, but his car has been found.
A badly burned Chevrolet Cobalt was located 29 kilometres west of Davidson in the RM of Willner on Tuesday. It was found among several abandoned buildings, which were also destroyed.
Mounties now confirm that the charred compact car belongs to the 25-year-old Vicente.
RCMP knew it was a similar model, but until now, they weren't able to confirm that it was Vicente's. It was identified through a secondary vehicle identification number.
With this step, Mounties are now declaring the case suspicious.
“With the vehicle being burnt and due to his person not being in the vicinity, we have deemed it suspicious,” Cpl. Con Lerat told News Talk Radio.
RCMP believe people with important information about Vicente's whereabouts have not yet come forward.
They're pleading for tips from the public and asking land owners around the fire scene to thoroughly check their property for signs of the missing man.
Vicente is white, 6-feet tall, 190 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.
Call Craik RCMP at 306-734-5200 if you have any information about Vicente's disappearance. If you wish to remain anonymous, Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, *8477 on Sask-Tel Mobility, text TIP206 plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or online at www.saskcrimestoppers.com.
