Prince Albert bowlers medal at provincials

As host of the Great Western Open Provincial Bowling Championships, Prince Albert teams also took home some hardware.

Bowlers from across Saskatchewan converged on the Minto Bowl over the weekend, with Prince Albert’s ladies time gaining gold after a winner take all game against Regina.

Kelsey Gibb, Christa Mulhall, Tracy Kenney, Shelley Hlewka, Amy Pilon, and Heather Lawrence won that final match eight points to one. Their coach is Susan Polowski.

Prince Albert’s mixed team took silver. It consists of Brian Earl, Robyn Nagy, Jack Mukli, Carol Paetsch, Allan Snow, Danielle Collins, and team coach Clarence Pilon.

Prince Albert’s contingent also had two bowlers make the all-star team.

Lonny Akers had the men’s highest average for the tournament of 278.53 for 15 games.

Amy Pilon had the Ladies second highest average of 250.63 for 13 games.
