Young internationals are making plays to offset some of the cost for replacing the Canadian Mental Health Association's (CMHA) roof.
Shayne Lazarowich, project supervisor for Canada World Youth, said the young people who are volunteering in Prince Albert want to host a charity football tournament to help with the CMHA's cost for the new roof.
“We worked with them quite a bit closely last year and this year so our youth decided they wanted to try to organizes some fundraising activities to help out,” said Lazarowich
According to Doug Kinar, executive director for Prince Albert’s CMHA, there is still upwards of $10,000 worth of damage left to fix.
“Our roof is repaired but we’re still trying to make ends meet for getting the rest of the repairs done as a result of the damage from the flooding”
The tournament starts at one pm at Vincent Massey School.
The cost to participate is $5 per person.
