Mar 29, 2015 | 4:46 PM

Police are treating a weekend house fire in Prince Albert as suspicious.

Around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a call for a fire on the 500 block of Sixth Street East.

When they arrived there was a large amount of smoke spewing from the home.

Prince Albert Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire without much incident and the only occupant had escaped through the window without injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

Prince Albert police were kept on their toes as well with two separate car thefts in the city.

On Sunday police visited two separate locations, the 100 block of 24th Street East and the 200 block of 15th Street West, for reports of stolen vehicles.

There is no word on if these two incidents are related, and police continue to investigate.

Only single vehicle accidents reported over weekend

Melting, slippery conditions outside the city may have played a factor in some weekend accidents.

Parkland Ambulance paramedics report responding to 67 incidents over the weekend, and three of those were accidents outside of Prince Albert.

On Saturday around 9 p.m. paramedics were called to White Star Road about 23 kilometres north east of Prince Albert, for a single vehicle collision.

A 43-year-old man was picked up by paramedics and taken to Victoria Hospital for further treatment, but then was transferred to Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon.

According to officials he is now in good and stable condition.

On Sunday morning around 6 a.m. paramedics responded within city limitsfor an accident in the 1400 block of 15th Street East.

Two people, a 22-year-old man and 24-year-old man, were both injured in a single vehicle accident.

They were both taken to Victoria Hospital in good condition.

A few hours later around 8 a.m. paramedics responded to a single vehicle accident near Sturgeon Lake.

They cared for a 35-year-old woman with injuries, and then transported here back to Victoria Hospital for further care.
