The Saskatoon Police Service has identified the woman who was found hurt and later died Wednesday after releasing photos of her clothing and tattoos to the public.

The woman’s name is not being released at the request of the family.

People have started leaving tributes and condolences on social media.

“So sad I found out that one of my friends past away today. R.I.P. old buddy, I had some good memories with you. Felt so weird finding out your gone. Thoughts and prayers goes out to you my dear friend,” he wrote on facebook.

“Hoping this was just a bad dream. Words can not describe what I am feeling right now,” wrote another person.

Police are calling her death suspicious after she was found injured on Cedar Villa Estates Road near Valley Road Wednesday morning around 6 a.m. by a passerby.  She later died in hospital.

Police released pictures of her jacket and watch. They also said she had a lion tattoo on her shoulder blade and stars on her hand.

Several people on Facebook were claiming to know the woman who was found, many saying they had called police to share that information.

The Saskatoon Police Service is thanking the public for their help in the case.
