Man charged in robbery pleads not guilty

Pouriya Asari is pleading not guilty to several firearm-related charges, uttering threats, and robbery.

He is the 20-year-old man who allegedly stole marijuana and money from some people at gunpoint at the 900 block of Cook Drive on Feb. 17.

Asari's preliminary trial is set for July 18.

Crown prosecutor Peter Hryhorchuk said in court he is planning on calling on seven witnesses.

Some of Asari’s other charges, including possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) for the purpose of trafficking, is adjourned until July 18 for mention.
