Mar 4, 2015 | 12:12 PM

RCMP are stepping up efforts to keep dry reserves dry.

From Feb. 27 to Feb. 28, officers from Wollaston Lake, Stony Rapids, Southend and Fond-du-Lac RCMP detachments were involved in a joint operation check-stop near Southend.

The goal of the operation was to prevent alcohol from entering communities where alcohol is prohibited.

Over the course of the initiative, approximately 60 vehicles were stopped at the junction of Highways 102 and 905, and the following items were seized:  100 cans of beer; 98 bottles of hard alcohol; and 28.5 grams of marijuana.
